pedestrian's code
the number one rule to crossing a road in trinidad is that the pedestrian is always right. when crossing a road, before looking left or right one must step directly into the street. when two feet are safetly planted on the road look at the oncomming taffic, extend your arm towards the cars with all 5 fingers firmly extended and begin walking to the opposite side of the road. never attempt to use a pedestrian crossing. If it looks like a driver will not be able to stop in time, look him/her in the eye and say,"bounce meh nuh!" If u follow these steps ur almost nearly kinda sure to make it across alive.
the other day, a little boy got badly bounced near to the factory where i work because of irreponsible crossing habbits. but wht can u expect if thats how they're taught by parents.

Remember David, out here they just step out in the road, no looking at u, no holding up of hand, quite similar to cattle in their assurance that if u hit them ur car will be damaged.
